What prevents the mesh from slipping down on the Straight Extensions?Updated 2 months ago

The Vertical Straight Fence Extension System can be installed on nearly any fence type. Once the extensions are attached to the existing fence, the mesh fence material can be installed over the extensions. You can choose between Durable Poly Mesh and Heavy-Duty Welded Wire.

  • Durable Poly Mesh is lightweight and flexible, but very strong and rated for outdoor use. Most of our customers select this option for its ease of installation.
  • Heavy-Duty Welded Wire is a heavy galvanized steel mesh (with black vinyl-coating) that is expected to last longer in most environments compared to the poly mesh. But it is heavier and more rigid, making it a little more challenging for installation.

Whichever material you choose, it is attached directly to the extensions with the included Heavy-Duty Zip Ties. The zip ties should be as tight as possible to hold the mesh firmly in place using tension/friction. This will prevent the material from slipping down the extension over time.

In order to get the zip ties as tight as possible, we recommend purchasing a Zip Tie Puller/Cutter Tool to assist with your installation. This handy tool will get the zip ties tighter than what is possible by hand, and snips off the excess tail all in one motion.
