How do I account for gates to be added?Updated 2 months ago
We offer Heavy-Duty Frame Gates that are compatible with the Freestanding DIY Dog Fence systems. Gates are available in two widths: 36 inches or 60 inches
Gate kits do not come with mesh fence material, and they do not "add" length to the overall fence layout. Instead, they are worked into the layout and meant to be hinged off one of the primary fence posts. Because of this, you should first set all your primary fence posts at the appropriate spacing (up to 9 feet apart maximum).
Once the primary fence posts are set, you can go back and assemble and install your gate(s). First, select a gate location where the gate will hinge from an existing fence post. Next, follow the assembly and installation instructions included with your gate kit. Once the gate door is assembled, you will use it as a guide to set your gate's latch post. There can be some slight variance in the total width of the gate door, so this ensures your latch post can be set precisely where it is needed.
If you need your gate to either hinge or latch against a home, building, or other structure, you may have to install "spacers" between the post and structure. This will allow for a small gap where the hinges or latch have room to function properly.
It is also possible to create a double door gate if you need a wide opening. This may require some custom parts, so please contact us if you are interested in a double gate.
