Can this be used on a fence that slopes or changes heights?Updated 2 months ago

Our Fence Extension Systems (both Straight and Curved Houdini-Proof) can be installed on existing fences that have slopes or changes in height, such as "stepped" panels.

You will want to ensure you secure each extension at a consistent height above the ground along the sloped or stepped sections. This will allow the extensions to follow the same angle and slope as the existing fence.

Mesh fence material is attached to the extensions in individual sections based on where your slope starts/stops, and when attaching the mesh, it should sit at the same angle as the fence itself. This will result in some excess material being cut away.

For Straight Vertical Extensions or Curved Houdini-Proof Extensions on a sloped fence:

For Straight Vertical Extensions or Curved Houdini-Proof Extensions on a stepped panel fence:

NOTE: Depending on how steep the slope is, you may find that this installation method leaves gaps at the points where the fence panels step up/down. You can either choose to move the extensions down slightly to cover the gaps or use extra mesh to patch the gaps.

Alternative option for Straight Vertical Extensions on a stepped panel fence:

If you prefer that the extensions "match" the fence panels, you can create an individual section for each fence panel, essentially increasing the height of each panel individually.

If you ever have any questions about how to secure your fence, or if it doesn't quite fit into the categories above, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team for specific advice!
