Can the Houdini-Proof curved extensions contain cats?Updated 2 months ago
The curved Houdini-Proof extensions may contain some cats if installed an an appropriate height, but we do not expect it to contain all cats.
If you are are interested in containing cats only, we recommend the products from our sister brand, Purrfect Fence. These fence systems are designed specifically with cats in mind and will do a better job compared to the Dog Proofer system.
It is also possible to utilize our systems to contain both cats and dogs. Safely containing cats tends to be a bit more challenging and dynamic compared to dogs so the spring-loaded arm from Purrfect Fence is always recommended if cats need to be contained.

To contain both cats and dogs, you can use a combination of our Dog Proofer and Purrfect Fence products. For containing cats, we do recommend the spring-loaded extension arm from Purrfect Fence as it will be most effective for keeping the cats contained. If you have reason to believe that your dog(s) may try to test the system after installation, or you need to increase the overall height, it is possible to use a combination of our sturdier Dog Proofer Fence components, like the vertical fence extension, and add the spring-loaded cat arms on top. If you do not have an existing fence to attach to, it is also possible to use our Freestanding Dog Fence for the base of your fence and add the spring-loaded cat arms on top. In order to most effectively and safely contain cats, the minimum recommended fence height is 6 feet (measured from the tip of the spring-loaded arm down to the ground below).
